Taking It Deeper

Lyrics

Great is Your faithfulness oh God
You wrestle with the sinner's heart
You lead us by still waters and to mercy
And nothing can keep us apart

So remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise
Oh God

Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me

Great is Your love and justice God
You use the weak to lead the strong
You lead us in the song of Your salvation
And all Your people sing along

So remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise
Oh God

Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me (x2)

So remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise
Oh God

Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me
Your grace is enough

Heaven reaching down to us
Your grace is enough for me
God I see your grace is enough
I'm covered in your love
Your grace is enough for me
For me

TID-bits

  •  You know how your car gives you a little “ding ding” reminder sound when you turn it off, but you’ve forgotten to take the keys?
  • This (that) song is like that.   It’s a reminder song. It asks God to remember His people.   Remember His children, remember His promise.
  • And then it turns around and reminds us that His grace is enough.
  • Too many times we forget to take those key truths with us:   That He remembers us, and that He gives us grace to make it through today.

--------------------------------

  • I looked up on the internet about sharing the same air as Jesus.
  • There are 112 quattuordecillion molecules of air in our atmoshpere. (It’s OK if you can’t pronounce that - I don’t know many who can)
  • That’s One Hundred and Twelve with 42 zeros behind it.
  • And we breathe in about 161 sextillion molecules per breath.
  • So Mathematicians have determined that there would be between 4 to 4 trillion molecules of air that Jesus breathed in every breath we take.
  • In other words, it’s a near certainity that we’ve breathed some of Jesus’ same air.
  • In the same way, you may have heard it said that His grace is like air - it is freely given.
  • It is also plentiful in the quattuordecillion range, and He definitely shares it when you need it.

  • You and I always have an answer for this statement:   “I wish I had more money to ________.
  • It’s because we always want more money.
  • But try this...change the word “money” for the word “grace”
  • “I wish I had more grace to _____________.
  • It seems strange to ask for more grace
  • Some say the definition of grace is that it’s “getting what we don’t deserve.”
  • So this (that) song reminds us that His grace is enough,
  • Because it’s always way more than we deserve.

    Scripture References

    2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

    --------------------------------

    Ephesians 1:5-6

he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will–   to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

    -------------------------------

    Psalm 103:8

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

    Your Own Experiences

I would guess that if you’ve had a personal encounter with the grace of God that you have found that it’s not just sufficient, but it’s actually more than enough, right?   Share the details....

    --------------------------------

This song asks for God to remember His people, and remember His promise to us.   Talk about a time that someone remembered to do something for you - like dropping a check in the mail that they had promised to do weeks ago.   It’s a great feeling when it happens.   Let the listeners know that God hasn’t forgotten them.

    --------------------------------

Remember tickling your child?   Or being tickled yourself?   What is one word we usually always say when that happens?   “Enough!”   God’s grace is like being tickled.   It is always more than we can handle.
