Taking It Deeper

Lyrics

If faith can move the mountains
Let the mountains move
We come with expectation
We are waiting here for You
Waiting here for You

You're the Lord of all creation
And still You know my heart
The Author of Salvation
You've loved us from the start

Waiting here for You
With our hands
Lifted high in praise
And it's You
We adore
Singing Alleluia

You are everything You've promised
Your faithfulness is true
And we're desperate for Your presence
All we need is You

Waiting here for You
With our hands
Lifted high in praise
And it's You
We adore
Singing Alleluia

Singing Alleluia
Alleluia
Alleluia
Alleluia

Waiting here for You
With our hands
Lifted high in praise
And it's You
We adore
Singing Alleluia

TID-bits

  • There’s a phrase we need to get rid of.   That phrase is “I hope it’s going to be alright.”
  • If you have Jesus as your savior, you need to say instead “I know it’s going to be alright”
  • He’s conquered death.   What’s possibly worse than that?   So he’s going to take care of what’s bothering you today.
  • So when Christy Nockels sings “If faith can move the mountains, let the mountains move.”
  • You need to hang onto those words.
  • And know in faith that He will move them for you.

-----------------------------

  • Well your life is kind of like an anthill.
  • Somebody came along and kicked it.
  • And you are scurrying around trying to put it back together.
  • It seems like a mountain.
  • But to God, who knows the entire picture, it is more like an anthill.
  • And He can move it for you.

-------------------------

  • You know what it’s like when you’re waiting for someone at the airport?
  • Your eyes search in expectation, waiting for your loved one to come through that door.
  • That’s what it’s like when you’re waiting for God to move in your life.
  • Keep waiting, He will come through that door, and that will be an exciting day for you.

------------------------------

  • When your hands are lifted high, you’re basically is a posture of giving up control.
  • So when this song says our hands are lifted high in praise, think of that as saying “Lord, I’m giving this up to you”
  • Then wait for Him to take control.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES

Matthew 17:20

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Romans 8:18-21

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.   For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.   For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope thatthe creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
