Taking It Deeper

To the one who's dreams are falling all apart

And all you're left with is a tired and broken heart

I can tell by your eyes you think your on your own

but you're not alone

Have you heard of the One who can calm the raging seas

Give sight to the blind, pull the lame up to their feet

With a love so strong and never let you go

oh you're not alone

You will be safe in His arms

You will be safe in His arms

'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart

This is the promise He made

He will be with You always

When everything is falling apart

You will be safe in His arms

Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life

Is the very same voice that calls you now to rise

So hear Him now He's calling you home

You will never be alone

These are the hands that built the mountains

the hands that calm the seas

These are the arms that hold the heavens

they are holding you and me

These are hands that healed the leper

Pulled the lame up to their feet

These are the arms that were nailed to a cross

to break our chains and set us free

  • Our hearts can be cold
  • Our hearts can be hard
  • But our hearts can be warmed
  • And They can be strengthened
  • When they’re held in God hands.
  • Here’s (That was) Phil Wickham...

  • Talk about how each week you’ve often seen a friend on facebook who’s gone through a loss.   Maybe a breakup with a boyfriend or girlfriend, or a job, or the loss of a loved one.
  • Then introduce this song that talks about having a broken heart,
  • Finish with reassuring the listeners that God holds broken hearts safe.

  • Talk about your childhood when you wouldn’t share a toy.   How you would wrap your arms around it and twist your body away from the other kids.
  • Compare that to this song, which, in essence, talks about opening up your arms and releasing the pain that has gripped a heart.
  • Finish by saying that you’ve found it much better to let God wrap around your heart, than to let pain wrap around it.

    Your Own Experiences

Talk about a time that you were broken hearted, and how God healed your hurt.   Tie it into the line “when everything is falling apart, you will be safe in His arms.”

If you have a listener who calls in for prayer, and their life is just a “raging sea.”   Then share their story and play this song for them.

Talk about a time that God came to you, through His Word, or through something spoken by a friend, or through something impressed on your spirit.   Talk about how you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that He was with you.   Tie that into the line of the song that says “You’re not alone.”
