Taking It Deeper

Another day, another fight
It always feels like an uphill climb
Another step, another mile
The story of your life
It's harder than you ever thought
And it costs you everything you've got
When you're back against the wall
And you feel like giving up
This is only a mountain
You don't have to find your way around it
Tell it to move, it'll move
Tell it to fall, it'll fall
This is only a moment
You don't have to let your fear control it
Tell it to move, it'll move
Tell it to fall, it'll fall
You've gotta find a second wind
It's not as high as you think it is
Don't give up and don't you quit
You gotta climb if you wanna win
And I know it looks big
And I know you feel small
But just a little bit of faith can change it all
Change it all
Ask like you believe it
Trust like you can see it
Take your fear and say
There's nothing in your way, no oh
Even when it looks big
Even when you feel small
Just a little bit of faith can change it all
It's only a mountain
Just a little bit of faith can change it all

  • My friend had a mole in his front yard.
  • He could tell because of the molehills.
  • They were just mounds of soft dirt.   He could step on them and they’d go down.
  • It makes me think of this song, because the old adage is right:   We make mountains out of molehills.
  • What we think is a huge obstacle in life, is something that God could push down out of our way.
  • If we just have the faith to let Him.

  • When you deal with an actual mountain, you gotta be prepared for it with the right shoes, appropriate clothes,   a backpack with food and water, and a GPS.
  • And when you deal with a mountain in your life, there is one provision you gotta have...faith.   The Bible says so.
  • God says that’s all He requires to help you get past it.

  • We tend to look up at mountains.   That’s when they seem daunting.
  • God, however, looks down at mountains.   If you’ve ever flown over one, you know they don’t seem as bad, as you see them move past your window.
  • Using your faith to ask a mountain to move is like changing from your perspective to God’s perspective.
  • It’s asking God to help you get His birds eye view.   To see what life will be like once He’s helped that mountain move.

  • A lot of scriptures refer to God as the one who lives most high.
  • God, after all, met Moses on a mountain.
  • He carved the ten commandments out of stone from that mountain.
  • He knows how to manipulate and move them.

  • In the first verse it says: “The story of your life - it’s harder than you ever thought.”
  • When some encounter the tough times of life, they just stop.
  • An example:   I had a friend with a 28 year old son who’s never gotten a job because there might be something about the job they don’t like.
  • That’s true with every job.
  • But you don’t stop.   You keep going.   And you keep going in faith that God will make either you, or the circumstance better.
  • This is a keep going song...
