Taking It Deeper

You're calling me over

You're pulling me close

With love You surround me

You give me hope

You're taking me deeper

You're making me whole

With grace You redeem me

You restore my soul

Now I'm made new

Because of You

You hold my head up

You remind me who I am

You hold my head up

I'm alive in You again

I'm made new

You're making me stronger

You're healing my heart

With Your hands You hold me

And You set me apart

You are my salvation

I will not fear

You're the strength of my life

I won't fear

  • My house, my car, my furniture…all of it.  It all starts to break down the older it gets.
  • Don’t even get me started on my body, and what I see in the mirror each day!
  • There is a positive side to all this deterioration.  It lets me draw closer to what doesn’t decay, and that is my relationship with God.
  • That relationship can always be fresh, new, vibrant, and growing.
  • Even if you have to pick it back up where you left off.

  • Stan had broken dreams.
  • The business he had started never took off the ground.
  • Now he was facing layoffs, the pressure from the bank, and what he thought was a shattered reputation that would always have the word “failure” attached to it.
  • What he was starting to see was that God was stronger than ever in His life.  He was a God who allowed the dream to die, so that Stan would ultimately find that his worth never came from a job, or from the title of “President.”
  • Stan’s worth came from his position with God.
  • And that was worth the failure.

  • Have you ever been driving down the road and you see a beautiful restored car, something classic - like a 57 Chevy.
  • Everything on it is bright, and shiny and absolutely beautiful.
  • Next time you see a car like that, think about this...
  • That car is you.
  • God has taken everything that's on your frame and He has restored it, and rejuvenated it - all the way down to your core.
  • Hold your head up.  You are beautiful.  You are worthy.  You have been made new.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me

    Your Own Experiences

Talk about a time when you experienced tears, but afterward you felt renewed.  That’s the idea behind this song.

Talk about how God is taking you deeper through the struggle you’re going through.

How has God made you stronger through a particular weakness?
