Taking It Deeper

I just let go

And I feel exposed

But its so beautiful

Cuz this is who I am

I've been such a mess

But now I can't care less

I could bleed to death

Oh Lord I'm ready now

All the walls are down

Time is running out

And I wanna make this count

I ran away from you

And did what I wanted to

But I don't wanna let you down

Oh Lord I'm ready now

Lord I'm ready now

You called my name

I turned away

But now I

Am listening

I was so caught up

In who I'm not

Can you please forgive me?

I've nothing left to hide

No reason's left to lie

Give me another chance

  • You know what I find is most true about Home Improvement stores?
  • I always have to go back to them.
  • It’s true.  I think the 24 gauge wire nut will work for the ceiling fan when I really need a 14 gauge.  So back I go.
  • Sometimes we get frustrated when we just can’t get it right the first time.
  • God knows that - and He doesn't get frustrated with you when you mess up.
  • He loves to see you come back to Him time after time.

  • Do your teenagers have selective hearing?
  • You call them…they don’t answer…however, you have a quiet conversation about buying a new iPhone and they immediately shout down the hall that they want one too.
  • Our lives our often examples of selective hearing.  God will call us to do something, and we’ll wait to respond until it’s something we want to hear.
  • However, this is a song that discovers the wisdom of responding to everything He wants to say.

  • Have you ever “let your house go?”
  • You spend a couple of days on a project and the dishes don’t get put away.  There’s a pan of spaghetti sauce left on the stove.  Counters full of mail are stacked up, and so on.
  • Finally, you’ve had enough and you go through this big energy burst of getting it all back in order.
  • That’s kind of what this song is about.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

2 Chronicles 30:9 (ESV)

For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and your children will find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.

Jeremiah 24:7

I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart

Lamentations 3:40

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.

  1. KSWP says:

I wonder if the title should have been Lord, I give up now. So many times you can “fight” what God wants to do in your life. There’s is real freedom in just saying I give up God – God promises to do more than we can hope or imagine so consider giving up today…
