Taking It Deeper

Sometimes I think
What will people say of me
When I’m only just a memory
When I’m home where my soul belongs
Was I love
When no one else would show up
Was I Jesus to the least of us
Was my worship more than just a song
I wanna live like that
And give it all I have
So that everything I say and do
Points to You
If love is who I am
Then this is where I’ll stand
Recklessly abandoned
Never holding back
I wanna live like that
Am I proof
That You are who You say you are
That grace can really change your heart
Do I live like Your love is true
People pass
And even if they don’t know my name
Is there evidence that I’ve been changed
When they see me do they see You
I wanna show the world the love He gave for me
I’m longing for the world to know
The glory of the King

  •  My friend was telling me about how his family delivered 12 dozen cookies to a home for abused mothers and their kids.
  • The shelter had a nightly “cookies and milk” time.   His kids got to play games and read stories with the other kids, and everyone got to be a blessing to each other.
  • If you want to live like Jesus lived, just start by doing something simple for someone else.
  • It could be as simple as sharing a cookie.

  • Most people think that their legacy is about what they’ve accomplished in their life.
  • This (That) song reminds us that our legacy should be about what we’ve done for others instead.

  • How do you want to live?   I mean truly live.
  • Have you noticed that you feel most alive, when you’re taking a risk?
  • It makes your heart pump, your palms sweat, your breath short.
  • When the adrenaline is flowing your senses are heightened and you feel fully alive.
  • Jesus told us to go to others, to serve others, to put our lives on the line for others.
  • Telling someone about your life with Jesus gives you those feelings.   Is that a small risk that you could take today?

    Scripture References

    Philippians 1:21

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

    Philippians 3:8

What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.

    Matthew 10:42

And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."

    Your Own Experiences

Have a “Live Like That” day on your airshift.   Tell listeners that you were listening to the words of this song - about how “everything you say or do points to you” - to Christ.   Ask listeners to call or e-mail in stories about someone they know who is showing the love of God to others.

Talk about an experience that you or your family did that was showing Jesus’ love “to the least of these”

Talk about how a Christian once sacrificed for you, and how that made you want to be more like them.
