Taking It Deeper

Wish that I was there,
On that silent night,
When your tiny heart started beating for mine,
I wish I could’ve seen,
The star in David's town,
When you turned a stable into Holy ground.
I sing along, the angels song.
Noel, Noel, Jesus is alive.
Emanuel, hope is here tonight.
So go, and tell, the world that death has died.
'Cause Jesus is alive. Yea Jesus is alive.
The God who made us all,
With these two little hands,
Is bringing us his kingdom quiet as a lamb.
Oh such Amazing Grace!
A divine conspiracy.
This Savior in a manger changes everything.
That's why we sing.
Sin you have no sting.
Hell you have no power. (Jesus is alive)
Curse you are no more.
This is your final hour. (Jesus is alive)
Because the son of God
Has not left us alone. (Jesus is alive)
He'll live and die and rise again, and then he'll bring us home. (Jesus is alive)
The old will pass away
And we will become new. (Jesus is alive)
This baby boy is making all sad things untrue.
Jesus is Alive!

  • This (That) song talks about Jesus turning a stable into Holy ground.
  • If there’s one thing that Jesus does well, it’s “turning”
  • He turned water into wine.
  • He turns those that are sick into those that are healed
  • And above all, He turns those who are feeling down and depressed and dead to life this Christmas, into ones who are alive.
  • To find that life, all you have to do is seek Him.

  • This (That) song has the words “divine conspiracy” in it.
  • The word “conspire” is one of those words that, oddly enough, is tied to Christmas.
  • We conspire to “dream around the fire”
  • We conspire to hide gifts under the tree and other places.
  • We conspire to find the right “White Elephant Gift.”
  • And God conspired to find the right way to bring us closer to Him.
  • He did it through a baby.
  • Because humans are naturally drawn to babies.
  • Doesn’t that say a lot about His character?
  • He uses unconventional means to make us aware of our need for Him.
  • He conspires.

  • Like this (that) song says:   “We’re here to tell the world that death has died, cause Jesus is alive.”
  • Death is like wrapping paper.
  • We live each day knowing that it’s covering us.
  • But Jesus comes and rips it away from us.
  • He discards it.
  • And our acceptance of Him reveals a shiny golden gift inside.
  • A new heart, and a new life that is eternal.

    Scripture References

    John 5:24

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me   has eternal life   and will not be condemned;   he has crossed over from death to life.

    John 6:40

For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son   and believes in him shall have eternal life,   and I will raise him up at the last day.”

    Romans 5:21

so that, just as sin reigned in death,   so also grace   might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life   through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    Your Own Experiences

Talk about being there for the birth of your child and how it gave you hope, then relate it to the birth of Jesus and how it brings hope to all mankind.

Talk about a time when your life seemed like it was going through a deep dark silent night, and how hope showed up for you.

Talk about missing a loved one at Christmas.   Then talk about how you know you’ll see them again because of Jesus’ life.
