Taking It Deeper

There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say, "it is well"
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God, fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes
And I hear the voice of many angels sing, "worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart, "worthy is the Lamb"

  • What do they say when we have to pick up heavy objects?
  • “Bend at the knees and lift with your legs, not with your back”
  • When we have to shoulder burdens, it’s always best to start with bended knees.

  • This (That) song is about transitioning.
  • It says He has risen and that we will rise.
  • It’s about the transition between defeat and victory.
  • And it’s about holding on and watching for Jesus to come through for you.
  • Can we pray with you to make it through while you wait?

  • This (That) song has a line that alludes to Jesus being the “anchor for your soul.”
  • An anchor by itself doesn’t do much good.
  • For an anchor to work it has to be attached to something.
  • I find that Jesus anchors me only if I keep holding on to Him.

    Your Own Experiences

Talk about a time when you were overwhelmed, and you then arrived at a place where you overcomed.

Has there been a time when you gave Him praise?  Kind of like what it says in this song:  “Worthy is the Lamb.”  Did doing that lift you up, too?

Talk about riding out a problem using your faith, and how you saw God clearly working through it afterward.  Tie it into the lyric “when my faith will be my sight.”
