Taking It Deeper

Lyrics

I am guilty

Ashamed of what I've done, what I've become

These hands are dirty

I dare not lift them up to the Holy one

Chorus

You plead my cause

You right my wrongs

You break my chains

You overcome

You gave Your life

To give me mine

You say that I am free

How can it be

How can it be

I've been hiding

Afraid I've let you down, inside I doubt

That You could love me

But in Your eyes there's only grace now

Chorus

You plead my cause

You right my wrongs

You break my chains

You overcome

You gave Your life

To give me mine

You say that I am free

How can it be

How can it be

Bridge

Though I fall, You can make me new

From this death I will rise with You

Oh the grace reaching out for me

How can it be

How can it be

Chorus

You plead my cause

You right my wrongs

You break my chains

You overcome

You gave Your life

To give me mine

You say that I am free

How can it be

How can it be

TID-bits

I was a muddy mess once.  My face, my hair, my arms, my legs, were all covered in mud -everywhere!  My Mom made me take my shoes off outside, and she made me strip down to my underwear, then she scooped me up so I wouldn’t get mud all over her carpet, and she got me in the shower.

It only took a bit of shampoo and soap, and a high pressure nozzle to my sneakers, and I was as good as new.  My Mom got between me and the mud, and in the process she got that mud on her.  That was OK, though, because she knew how to take care of it.

If you’ve got a mess on your hands, you’ve got a Heavenly Parent who will clean you up.  He gets between you and the dirt to plead your case, and right your wrongs.  He takes the mess on Himself.  If you wonder how can that be, then think back to the time your Mom had to clean you up and you’ll understand why.

    Colossians 1:11-14

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.  He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

    ——————————————-

    Galatians 5:1

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

    ——————————————-

    Acts 13:38-39

Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

    Your Own Experiences

Talk about a time you were sick, and someone went out of their way to make a meal for you and your family.  That person had to give some time and expense - in essence, they had to give a part of their life to come between you and your sickness.  They did it in an effort to help you toward getting better.   This song is about the giving of a life - a life that stands between your sickness and your healing.
