Taking It Deeper

Bring your tired
Bring your shame
Bring your guilt
Bring your pain
Don't you know that's not your name
You will always be much more to me
Everyday I wrestle with the voices
That keep telling me I'm not right
But that's alright
Cause I hear a voice and He calls me redeemed
When others say I'll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
In the world
In the world
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
Bring your doubts
Bring your fears
Bring your hurt
Bring your tears
There'll be no condemnation here
You are holy, righteous and redeemed
Every time I fall
There'll be those who will call me
A mistake
Well, that's ok
There'll be days I lose the battle
Grace says that it doesn't matter
Cause the cross already won the war
He's greater
He's greater
I am learning to run freely
Understanding just how He sees me
And it makes me love Him more and more
He's greater
He's greater

  • You know that argument you have inside your mind - Do I believe what I think or what God says?
  • The voice you listen to the most will be the loudest.
  • What you believe determines how you live and feel.
  • SO which voice will you believe today? The voice of fear that says, "You're not good enough." OR the voice of faith that says "My grace is greater."

  • Every flip of the channel, click of the mouse or scroll of the page you get the message that life is about finding what's best.
  • You'll see a better mop, a more improved way to work out, or 10 tips for better behaved kids.
  • This song is a reminder that there is nothing better than His love for you
  • You don't have to stress about the multiple ways you should improve, because ultimately it's not about what you do - it's about what you believe He already did.

  • You may have heard this quote from Mary Anne Radmacher that says: "Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'
  • That's a little like the message of this song - SO you lost the battle today - BIG DEAL
  • Grace whispers "It doesn't matter" "You are loved!"
  • When you accept the whispers of grace you are free to be you; free from failure, happy and confident in the love of a perfect Father

  • What's greater?  A Life with boundaries or without?
  • Child Psychologist Dr. James Dobson says that kids without boundaries are unhappy.
  • He says that in an unfenced playground kids will play close to the middle and won't venture far from one area. Fear and doubt reside outside the bounds.
  • However, in a fenced playground, or an area of clear boundaries, kids run free, have fun, relax and are more creative.
  • It makes me think that boundaries are a good thing - that it's better to live within the boundaries of God's grace instead of on the outskirts of fear and doubt.
  • and what's really wild  - God's grace has no bounds!

    Your Own Experiences

When was the last time you heard in your head that you weren't good enough? Let the listeners know that 1 John 4:4 is what you need to hear for those times, and what's awesome is that you both can memorize it by listening to this song.

Describe a person who has always encouraged you and how important it is that we have someone like that in our lives.  Then lead into this song by saying God is always there to give you the encouragement you need.

Talk about an instance where you wrestled with inadequacy - as a husband, as a wife, or as a parent perhaps. How did you ask for help from God? How did He deliver?
