Taking It Deeper

Lyrics

Hold on
Is this really the life I'm living?
Cause I don't feel like I deserve it
Every day that I wake, every breath that I take you’ve given
So right here, right now
While the sun is shining down

I wanna live like there's no tomorrow
Love like I'm on borrowed time
It's good to be alive, yeah

Hold on
If the life that we've been given
Is made beautiful in the living
And the joy that we get brings joy to the heart of the giver
Then right here, right now
This is the song I'm singing out

I wanna live like there's no tomorrow
Love like I'm on borrowed time
It's good to be alive
[x2]

I won’t take it for granted
I won’t waste another second
All I want is to give you
A life well lived, to say “thank you”

I wanna live like there's no tomorrow
Love like I'm on borrowed time
It's good to be, it's good to be alive

I wanna live like there's no tomorrow
Love like I'm on borrowed time
It's good to be alive

I won’t take it for granted
I won’t waste another second
All I want is to give you
A life well lived, to say “thank you”

TID-bits

This is a song about Thankfulness, so it’s always easy to go into or out of it with at least one thing you’re thankful for.   Don’t forget to remind listeners that if they are breathing, they have one thing to give God praise for.

Here's a list to get you started:

10 Reasons it's Good to be Alive:

1. There's no age limit to running under a sprinkler.

2. Finding that new favorite song to listen to constantly.

3. Watching movies with friends.

4. Chubby Puppies.

5. Having blankets to wrap up in at night

6. People love you, whether or not you want to believe it, someone does. Friends, family. They do.

7. Swimming in a lake. There are many spots, but you have your favorite.

8. Dancing alone in your room.

9. Having that one really awkward talent that nobody else you know has.

10. Seeing stars at night, even if there may only be a few visible.

Now, what can you think of today to add to the list?

------------------------------------------

  • Taking some sort of risk always brings out incredible feelings of being alive.
  • Here are some:
    • There was a story this week of a 90 year old skydiving for the first time on her birthday.   It was part of her bucket list.
    • Bungee jumping.
    • Starting a business.
    • Having a needed conversation.
    • I have a friend who says that’s why he rides motorcycles.   He says he’s always milliseconds and millimeters from death, and he has to put all his senses on heightened awareness.
  • There is one thing you can do today to feel alive, and to be thankful:
  • Put your complete trust in God in whatever you have going on.

------------------------------------------

  • There are things we take for granted.
  • The wall where you mark your kids growth over the years.
  • The table where you celebrate birthdays.
  • The rocking chair you used to coax your child to sleep
  • The electricity to cool your food and your home and to open your garage door.
  • Those who have gone through a natural disaster know to not take these things for granted.
  • They know the truth that one day you have everything, and the next day you have nothing.
  • And since it can happen to any of us, it’s important to live in the words of this song...

------------------------------------------

  • I searched Google and found out that there are over 31,000 verses in the Bible.
  • Then in my Bible software, I typed in the words “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.   His love endures forever.”
  • I got over 15,000 hits!
  • That’s almost half the Bible.
  • Now, not all of those verses actually said those words, but they in some way had the thought of giving thanks, or they talked about God’s goodness or love.
  • If the Bible places a big emphasis on that, shouldn’t we also give Him thanks continually?
  • This song does just that...

    Your Own Experiences

In the second verse of this song it says:

    “Hold on

If the life that we've been given

Is made beautiful in the living

Does this make you wonder if our struggles ultimately become something beautiful?     Can you relate to that and share it?

    ------------------------------------------

This song says “Live like there’s no tomorrow.   Love like you’re on borrowed time.”   Is there a family member, like a sibling, who you haven’t talked to in awhile?   Remind the listener that if you (or they) are going to “love like you’re on borrowed time,” then maybe it’s time to call a loved one today.

    ------------------------------------------

Talk about someone you know who’s life is extremely tough right now, and how you are praying for them.   Remind the listener that they should never delay praying or helping someone in need.   That’s the essence of the words “live like there’s no tomorrow.”
