Taking It Deeper

Lyrics

Let love explode and bring the dead to life
A love so bold to see a revolution somehow
Let love explode and bring the dead to life
A love so bold to bring a revolution somehow

Now I'm lost in Your freedom
And this world I'll overcome

(Chorus)
My God is not dead
He's surely alive
He's living on the inside
Roaring like a lion
(X2)

Let hope arise and make the darkness hide
My faith is dead
I need a resurrection somehow

Now I'm lost in Your freedom
And this world I'll overcome

Chorus

Let Heaven roar and fire fall
Come shake the ground
With the sound of revival
(X3)

 Chorus (X2)

TID-bits

  • Someone once said that “every cat is a lion at home”
  • When we’re surrounded by our own comfort it’s easy to roar and act like a king.
  • It’s when we get out of our comfort zone that we usually find ourselves relying on another king...a king who’s alive and more than able to help.

------------------------------

  • I love it when I see teens singing this song
  • When they shout out “My God’s Not Dead, He’s surely alive!”
  • It reminds me of a quote from Sir Winston Churchill when he was commenting about World War II. He said: “It was the nation and the race dwelling all round the globe that had the lion’s heart.   I had the luck to be called upon to give the roar.”
  • Youth instinctively know they are part of a group of people who have the lion’s heart.
  • Do you want to be one who also summons the roar?
  • Who brings a “love so bold that brings a revolution” somehow.

------------------------------

  • He’s not asleep
  • He’s not away
  • He’s not out to lunch
  • He’s alive

------------------------------

(SPOILER ALERT)

  • In the movie “The Avengers” Iron Man lands hard on the ground after an epic battle.   His light has gone out and we’re not sure he’s coming back.
  • That is...until the Hulk roars at him.
  • In real life, God is roaring into lives and stirring those who’s spirits are dead back to life.

    Your Own Experiences

What are you trying to do today that needs an intervention of God’s power?   Ask the listeners to pray for you regarding it.

    ------------------------------

Talk about a time that you felt God impressed you to do something.   (EXAMPLES: like making a phone call, or praying for someone immediately) Compare that to the line in the song that says “He’s living on the inside, roaring like a lion.”   The point is that He IS inside you speaking or roaring to you.

    ------------------------------

Be real with the listener and let them know that there will be times when their faith seems “dead.”   Maybe share a time when you felt that way.   Let them know that these times often come so that God can show them how He is alive.

What a great analogy on The Avengers movie with Iron Man coming back to life. Way to think out of the box and apply man!
