Taking It Deeper

I gotta slow down
Stop for a second
Take a look around
And I gotta take time
To hear that little voice inside
Saying I came to give you life
So spread your wings and fly
I've got a secret to share
You are enough to change the atmosphere
So go and do life big
I wanna do life big
Break out them blue skies
I can feel my heart beating inside
Yeah, it's like a new day
Woke up to hear You say
I came to give you life
So spread your wings and fly
Now go and show no fear
You are enough to change the atmosphere
So go and do life big
I wanna do life big
Oh, I wanna love, wanna give every day I live
I wanna do life big
I wanna love, serve, and give every chance I get
I wanna do life big
I wanna love, wanna give every day I live
I wanna do life big
I wanna love, serve, and give every chance I get
Oh, I wanna do life
I wanna do life big
I wanna do life big
I wanna love like You
I wanna give like You
Oh, I wanna do life big
I wanna serve like You
Lay down my life like You
I wanna do life big!

The following TID-Bits come from Michelle Ross at KSWP:

  • It’s tempting most days to wake up and let the negative committee in your head beat you up before you even get out bed.
  • However, Zephaniah 3:17 says God rejoices over us with singing.
  • Wake up to today to hear God speak good things over your life.
  • Let His love give you the strength you need to not only survive but to also share it with those around you.

  • One of the definitions of “big” is of major concern, importance, gravity.
  • It’s easy to just think you can’t do something HUGE in sums of money or LARGE gifts, but it’s all about perspective.
  • If you smile at a person who is feeling sad.
  • If you help someone who feels alone.
  • If you compliment someone who feels invisible.
  • If you encourage someone who is feeling hopeless.
  • It’s colossally BIG to them.
  • You never know the battle someone is facing so try and do something – anything today – you never know the BIG effects your will have in someone’s live

  • For me when my husband empties the dishwasher or makes the bed – it’s HUGE… he still doesn’t understand why, but he does it because he loves me
  • (and for my reaction lol…)
  • What can you do today that would be HUGE for someone you love?

  • One of my favorite lines in the song is:  “You’re enough to change the atmosphere”  It makes me think of other things that actually change the air around you…
  • Like that tree shaped piece of cardboard that can change the atmosphere in your car
  • Or the small plastic plug-in that can change the fragrance of a room.
  • Something else that changes the atmosphere:  Your attitude.
  • When you change it from bad to good it can change the atmosphere of your home, office or car.
  • And that can be a big thing.

Another song that has this same theme is “Live With Abandon” by the Newsboys.  Check out its thoughts at:  http://takingitdeeper.com/live-with-abandon-the-newsboys/

    Scripture References

    Deuteronomy 31:8

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

    2 Corinthians 9:7

    Mark 8:34-35

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.   For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.

    Phillippians 3:14

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

    Your Own Experiences

Can you remember the dreams you’ve had to better yourself?  Have they come true?  Perhaps you could approach it from the angle of your first teenage job and where you went from there.  Remind the listener that even if life hasn’t turned out as planned, God still wants to use them to do something big.

Talk about how and when you realized that you have a part in God’s plan.  How did you pursue it?

Sometimes it’s small things that make a big difference.  For instance, talk about someone behind the scenes at your radio station.  Someone not on the air, not in the spotlight, but without them the place would fall apart.  Encourage the listener that they can make a big difference just by being faithful to the work that God has called them to do.
