Taking It Deeper

Lyrics

Today I found myself
After searching all these years
And the man that I saw, he wasn't at all who I thought he'd be
I was lost when you found me here
And I was broken beyond repair
Then you came along and you sang your song over me

It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time
In my life

Make a promise to me now
Reassure my heart somehow
That the love that I feel is so much more real than anything
I've a feeling in my soul
And I pray that I'm not wrong
That the life I have now, it is only the beginning

It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
For the very first time

I wasn't looking for something that was more
Than what I had yesterday
Then you came to me and you gave to me
Life and a love that I've never known
That I've never felt before

It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time
In my life

TID-bits

This is the song to play whenever you talk about “The Biggest Loser” TV show - and always let listeners know that the biggest change comes from the inside - from things you can’t see.

  • The thing about God’s Spirit is that it’s there to help you resist the person you don’t want to be.
  • But not only that, it’s like one of those jet packs we all wished we could have had as a kid.
  • God’s spirit is like something you can strap on at any time to help you soar past the temptations.
  • Whenever you’re struggling, admit it to God.   Admit what you’re feeling.   Ask Him to understand and to take you past it.
  • Strap on that jet pack and feel alive as you rocket past the trials.

----------------------------------------

  • There is a saying:   “You ride with an outlaw, you’re going to die with an outlaw”
  • Maybe if you want to be free, and if you want to truly live, it’s time to live “within law”
  • (No, not with your in-laws)!!
  • Live within the parameters that God has spelled out for life.
  • Because, it’s funny, when you live within His law, you live truly free from the world’s stuff - the stuff that wants to drag you down.

----------------------------------------

  • People often say they have to “find themselves.”
  • And It’s often used as an excuse to get out of a relationship.
  • The thing about God is that the closer you get in your relationship with Him,
  • the more you end up finding out about yourself.
  • Here’s Third Day with Lacey Mosely and Born Again, on (CALL LETTERS)

----------------------------------------

  • Have you ever started on a journey, like a vacation, or a road trip, and you feel so excited to begin?
  • After awhile though the hours and the road gets long, you’re looking for a rest stop, and maybe some caffeine.
  • The Christian journey is one that’s meant to be life long, and a journey of that length will result in weariness.
  • However, it’s also a journey that’s supposed to have frequent rest stops, through prayer and actual physical rest.
  • ...And when you do that you can feel the excitement once again.
  • This is a song about starting on that journey.

----------------------------------------

  • There’s a line in the middle of this song that says...
  • “Make a promise to me now, Reassure my heart somehow,   that the love I feel is so much more real than anything.”
  • I know (or I’ve seen) that husbands and wives can’t just say “I love you” once and then be done with it.
  • We need to always RE-assure a spouse that we love them.   By words and deeds.
  • I know I find myself reading about God’s promises to me, but then I tend to forget them.
  • But God, like a loving spouse continues to remind me of His unconditional love for me.
  • If you’re feeling a little unloved today then let this song remind you of the first time you found His love - then realize, that that love is still there.

    Your Own Experiences

    ----------------------------------------

Describe the feelings you had the first time you moved from home.   The fear, the excitement.   Tie that into becoming a Christian.

    ----------------------------------------

Describe a time where a fellow Christian prayed for you, reassuring you that God was in control. Tie it into the second verse where Lacey sings “reassure my heart somehow, that the love I feel is so much more real than anything.”   Open up to how you felt God’s love at that time.
